Eating Garlic Information:
Check out our Buy Garlic page for garlic availability. Our variety information is also available on the Garlic Varieties page. By doing so, you'll get to know the differences in our gourmet garlic. Each variety's unique flavor will stand out from common grocery store garlic. Below are pictures of each variety we grow.
Mild heat and mellow aftertaste. Turns sweet when baked or roasted. 8-12 cloves/bulb, 64 cloves/lb. This purple-stripe garlic produces our biggest bulbs!
A garlic-fan favorite! Has a pleasant flavor with a mild spicy zing! Purple stripe garlic that averages 7 cloves/bulb and 56 cloves/lb.
Pleasantly spicy. Heat doesn't last long, so it can be used in raw dishes. High in allicin content. This purple stripe variety averages 4-5 large cloves/bulb, 32 cloves/lb.
- Spicy, oniony, earthy flavor that lingers. Great with steak and venison! Makes an "ordinary" meal stand out with its complex layers of flavor. This Rocambole produces large bulbs that average 7 cloves/bulb and 56 cloves/lb.
Has a pleasant, but intense hotness that is rich & robust. Great for salsa and roasting. This porcelain garlic averages 6 cloves/bulb and 48 cloves/lb.
A large-clove garlic that stores well; is pleasantly hot and spicy, but not too hot and spicy... Grows milder in storage, good for cold winter climates. Marbled purple stripe that averages 7 cloves/bulb and 56 cloves/lb.
German Extra Hardy is a porcelain that averages 5 cloves/bulb and about 40 cloves/lb. A great around-table variety that boasts a strong raw flavor that mellows some when cooked. Easy to peel jumbo cloves and grows well in northern states.
Medium-hot and spicy when raw but mellows when cooked. Has large easy to peel cloves. Very cold tolerant and disease resilient. Averages 5-6 cloves/bulb, 40 cloves/lb.
